Between 22nd and 31st October 2006 a bit more than 140 people participated in this online poll. Thank you very much!
Here the details:
172 votes were cast in this poll. Unfortunately, there were 17 people who voted more than one time. The votes of these 17 people had to be made invalid in order to obtain a result which is more honest and true. So the number of valid votes was 146.
Here the percentages that the various answers got: Yes: 91 votes = 62,33 % No: 49 votes = 33,56 % I don't know: 6 votes = 4,11 %
INTERPRETATIONS:
The majority of voters of well over sixty per cent are satisfied with the budget which can be declared as a very unspectacular one. One third of the people have either expected more or different developments and are so not satisfied. However, it means that the budget is accepted in general. The poor grade of participation in this online poll shows that the budget has not reached the people in the same way as it did in pervious years.
The editor would like to point out, that this poll is not representative for the whole country. However, it gives a clear indication anyway.
The people were aware of the upcoming budget. Then it was published. And now it is not even a top issue for the Maltese.
