Is there enough Law Enforcement in Malta?

Results of 31st December 2006

You find many laws and regulations in Malta like everywhere else in civilised democracies. It is one thing to have them, and another to obey them. But to obey laws, rules and regulations one must either be very disciplined and having a good sense of right and wrong, or help and guidance from other side is necessary, in the way of law enforcement.

How is the situation in Malta? Is there enough Law Enforcement or can people do whatever they like?

Between 15th and 31st December 2006 almost 200 people participated in this online poll. Thank you very much!

Here the details:

203 votes were cast in this poll.

Unfortunately, there were 5 people who voted more than one time. The votes of these 5 people had to be made invalid in order to obtain a result which is more honest and true.
So the number of valid votes was 190.

Here the percentages that the various answers got:
Yes:                               66 votes   =   34,74 %
No:                               124 votes   =   65,26 %

INTERPRETATIONS:

A majority of voters believe that there is not enough law enforcement in Malta. Seeing articles in daily newspaperr and just having a look around in the streets confirms this. You often have to read about people disobeying rules and not respecting the law. The behaviour of certain car drivers is a good example. Where is the enforcement that the government talks about to often?

The editor would like to point out, that this poll is not representative for the whole country. However, it gives a clear indication anyway.

The results of this poll show that much work needs to be done by the authorities to win back credibility and to make people respect the laws and rules again.
