Will the oil price increase more?

Results of 31st August 2006

There are enough fossil fuels like oil available for another sixty years, if the demand does not increase further. But the demand is increasing. New big economies like China and India will require more and more energy. Their demand for oil will increase drastically in the coming years. Analysts believe that China's demand for oil will even reach bigger dimensions than the one of the actual biggest consumer for oil, the United States. The output of oil cannot be increased fast enough. And the OPEC countries do their part to remain the output as it is in order to earn more money. Prices have already increased drastically over the past few years. In ten years prices have almost doubled. Will this continue or has the oil price reached its all-time-high?

Between 10th and 24th August 2006 well above 300 people participated in this online poll. Thank you very much!

Here the details:

360 votes were cast in this poll.

Unfortunately, there were 11 people who voted more than one time. The votes of these 11 people had to be made invalid in order to obtain a result which is more honest and true.
So the number of valid votes was 330.

Here the percentages that the various answers got:
Yes. It will increase drastically.:  215 votes  =  65,15 %
Yes. It will incerase slightly.:      88 votes  =  26,67 %
No. It will remain as it is.:         24 votes  =   7,27 %
No. It will even decrease.:            3 votes  =   0,91 %

INTERPRETATIONS:

More than ninety per cent of the people believe that the oil price will increase further. Two thirds even say that it will increase drastically in the coming years.

The editor would like to point out, that this poll is not representative for the whole country. However, it gives a clear indication anyway.

The people believe that they will have to pay more for oil and petrol in future. Being aware of this will hopefully help to implement another way of thinking. It is important to find possibilities to safe fossil fuels, but also, and even more, to find alternatives and support them more.
