Should pornography be legalised in Malta?

Results of 20th April 2007

The discussions started when the European Union brought up the subject of the harmonisation of divorce laws. Since then also the issue of pornography has become more present in the press. Different opinions were published, be they in favour or against the legalisation of pornography. In other EU countries pornography is fully legal. But not in Malta.

Should this be changed? Should pornography be legalised in Malta?

Between 10th and 20th April 2007 well over 400 people
participated in this online poll. Thank you very much!

Here the details:

467 votes were cast in this poll.

Unfortunately, there were 13 people who voted more than one time. The votes of these 13 people had to be made invalid in order to obtain a result which is more honest and true.
So the number of valid votes was 439.

Here the percentages that the various answers got:

Yes:                                       220 votes   =   50,11 %
No:                                        219 votes   =   49,89 %

INTERPRETATIONS:

There is no clear majority in favour or against legalisation of pornography in Malta.

The editor would like to point out, that this poll is not representative for the whole country. However, it gives a clear indication anyway.

This is not a clear a voting at all. The voters are divided. One vote between yes and no do not make a difference.
The poll shows that the people are divided about this issue.
We will see what the Maltese government will do about it.
