Should Spring Hunting be prohibited in Malta?

Results of 31st March 2007

It's springtime again and the discussions about spring hunting have started. The Maltese government clashes with the European Union about the issue by not following the EU Birds' Directive. Local hunters organised protest marches. And many voices were raised against the hunting of birds. It is time to ask you for your opinion again.

Should Spring Hunting be prohibited in Malta (without exceptions)?

Between 10th and 31st March 2007 over 250 people participated in this online poll. Thank you very much!

Here the details:

274 votes were cast in this poll.

Unfortunately, there were 13 people who voted more than one time. The votes of these 13 people had to be made invalid in order to obtain a result which is more honest and true.
So the number of valid votes was 257.

Here the percentages that the various answers got:
Yes:                              233 votes   =   90,66 %
No:                                24 votes   =    9,34 %

INTERPRETATIONS:

An overwhelming majority of more than 90 per cent want spring hunting to be prohibited. Only less than ten per cent voted against banning it.

The editor would like to point out, that this poll is not representative for the whole country. However, it gives a clear indication anyway.

The results of this poll are clear. Those people, who still want to keep spring hunting legal, are an extremely small minority. The society is against spring hunting.
